Digital Europe: AI Continent

The DIGITAL-2025-AI-08 call "AI Continent" under the Digital Europe Programme supports the development, deployment, and scaling of trustworthy Artificial Intelligence (AI) in key EU sectors and areas. It aims to strengthen EU sovereignty in AI and critical technologies, improve compliance with regulatory frameworks, and promote the use of AI for public good, particularly in agriculture, public administration, and industry. The call aligns with broader EU strategies, such as the AI Act and the "Apply AI" Strategy, targeting AI innovation for competitiveness and societal benefit. By funding multinational and sectoral projects, this initiative seeks to bolster digital capabilities, enhance data governance, and facilitate the deployment of secure and interoperable AI systems across the Union.
This call has 5 topics whose objectives are summarized below.
  1. DIGITAL-2025-AI-08-SUPPLY-AI: Apply AI: GenAI for public administrations: Enable public administrations to co-develop and deploy trustworthy Generative AI (GenAI) applications that enhance public service delivery. Foster collaboration between Member States through shared demonstrators and procurement, and accelerate AI uptake in areas such as education, health, and justice.
  2. DIGITAL-2025-AI-08-COMPLIANCE: Digital solutions for regulatory compliance through data: Develop AI-based digital tools that assist businesses and public authorities in complying with regulatory obligations, especially in complex sectors like health, finance, and transport. Enable real-time cross-border compliance monitoring and foster trust and legal certainty in the deployment of advanced digital services.
  3. DIGITAL-2025-AI-08-PROCESSOR: Support to the secretariat for the Alliance on Processors and Semiconductor Technologies: Support the activities of the Alliance on Processors and Semiconductor Technologies by ensuring effective coordination and strategic implementation. Promote cooperation among stakeholders to advance EU capabilities in critical chip technologies and contribute to the execution of the EU Chips Act roadmap.
  4. DIGITAL-2025-AI-08-AGRIFOOD: Multi-Country project in Agri-Food: Deploy a shared digital infrastructure to support data-driven innovation in farming and food systems across multiple EU countries. Strengthen the resilience and sustainability of the agri-food sector through AI, data sharing, and sensor technologies, while fostering the involvement of public authorities and SMEs.
  5. DIGITAL-2025-AI-08-DS-SUPPORT: Data Spaces Support Centre: Operate and enhance the Data Spaces Support Centre to ensure technical alignment, interoperability, and governance across European data spaces. Foster a common European data infrastructure and enable the pooling of sectoral and cross-sectoral data in line with the European Data Strategy.
